Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American sportscaster. She hosts SportsNation as well as an anchor for SportsCenter anchor. She joined ESPN in the year 2016. The daughter of TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is a native bilingual. When she was just nine years old, her ability to speak two languages has allowed her to get the job she wanted in Miami as a production assistant for Univision. In her position she was able to be a part of national show producers, such as Nuestra Belleza Latina. Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Her next job was as reporter for sports at The CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. She moved from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to become a reporter at the Spanish channels KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. Reporters covered issues related to the issue of immigration and trafficking drugs throughout Texas as well as Mexico. Also, she would fill in occasionally as a weather and sports anchor. Then she anchor and wrote on Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was granted more responsibilities. She also did segments on the Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason as well as the Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. She also produced Univision 23's local sports program Accion Deportiva Extra, on where she was anchor. Then, she became the sports host for the morning show that is Despierta America Deportes. The anchor also worked in the same role on Primer Impacto on UniMas Network as well as Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta's parents hail from Veracruz Mexico. In Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd of November, 1985. She has an elder sister. Her family left in 1992 Mexico and relocated to Miami. In the course of a few months, her father divorced from her mother and she then remarried in 1995 a naval architect called Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away from kidney cancer in the year 2006. In June in 2006 she spent an entire week with her sister in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was employed at the time. Antonietta is a senior in high school but she had a clear idea of the path she was looking for. While deciding if Mount Union is the right choice for her Antonietta visited the campus. The campus was a dream for her. It also gave her the degree she wanted. When she completed her high school education, she attended the University to pursue media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor was also the station managing director at WRMU (91.1 FM) in which she was a part of. Her professor urged her to believe in herself and was greatly moved by his passion for journalism.
